Champadevi Hike
One of the most popular day hikes in Kathmandu, this trail winds through pine forests to a peaceful hilltop monastery with stunning Himalayan vistas.
Start: Kathmandu → Pharping
End: Champadevi Peak
Distance: ~20 km (round trip)
Time: ~4–5 hours
Altitude: 2,278 m
Highlights: Steady climb through pine forests and ridges; small monasteries and stupas along the way; tea breaks in local stalls; 360° views of Kathmandu Valley; panoramic Himalayan views including Annapurna, Langtang, Gaurishankar, and even Everest on a clear day; culturally significant peak named after the Hindu goddess Champa Devi.
